56 Art Gallery
56 Art Gallery, located in Gufool, is housed in a historic legacy building constructed by the late architect Mahmood Akbari in 1968. With strong ties to Bahraini culture and tradition, this gallery has undergone a restoration and transformation process led by Husam AlDhulaie in 2023, and it officially opened its doors on February 19, 2024.
“Our gallery showcases carefully selected work by local Bahraini artists. The goal is to support homegrown talent, celebrate cultural identity, and create space for dialogue and growth in the art community.”
56 approached Thad with the intention of creating a transformative space that resonates with both global and local audiences. We reconstructed the gallery into a two-story building with open rooms, designed to encourage immersive experiences and foster genuine connections between the art, the artists, and the viewers.
As part of this evolution, Thad also redesigned the logo and branding of 56 to reflect its renewed vision, identity, and commitment to arts & culture.
Today, 56 functions as a space for exhibitions, events, and creative exchange. It brings together artists, curators, and those interested in art, offering a place for networking, collaboration, and cultural connection.
